Simon Dredo’s debut album is rooted in sleaze rock, classic hard rock, and street rock, combined with a modern production approach.
The record is built around guitar-based songwriting, shaping a direct, immediate, and recognizable sound.
It moves between high-energy tracks and more intimate acoustic moments, maintaining a clear and consistent sonic identity throughout.
Drawing from American hard rock, ’80s sleaze, and the California scene, the project channels these influences while keeping the focus firmly on songwriting and performance.
Positioned within the current resurgence of guitar-based rock, the project bridges classic influences with a contemporary audience.
Simon Dredo is seeking a recording and production partnership with a label interested in developing and promoting an international rock project with a strong artistic identity, a fully formed band, and a clearly defined sound.
A relentless opener fueled by aggressive riffs, pounding grooves, and a powerful half-time chorus. The song explores the internal conflict between a man and his darker self, delving into obsession, addiction, love, and self-destruction.
2. GET ME HIGH
High-energy street rock with punk-driven riffs, a massive anthemic chorus, and powerful vocal harmonies. The song tells the story of a passionate yet volatile young relationship marked by desire, anger, and emotional dependence.
3. MAD ‘BOUT YOU!
The emotional ballad of the album. Written for his daughter, it is a heartfelt and deeply personal declaration of love that celebrates the unconditional bond between a father and his child.
4. I DON’T
A uniquely paced song enriched by dynamic percussion and California rock-inspired atmospheres. Its lyrics confront themes of protest and rebellion with a bold, direct, and uncompromising voice.
5. EXCESS
100% Rock ’n’ Roll, 100% attitude. Built around tight riffs, tempo shifts, and dynamic rhythmic changes, the song delivers an explosive and engaging listening experience. Packed with energy, groove, and swagger, “Excess” stands out as one of the album’s most powerful and memorable moments.
6. HELLO N’ THEN?
A fully acoustic ballad that highlights Simon’s multi-instrumental approach, featuring four acoustic guitars and self-performed percussion. Its stripped-down arrangement enhances the song’s emotional depth, as the lyrics reflect on a relationship tested by distance, marked by nostalgia, resilience, and the desire to be together again.
7. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE (THE BEATLES)
Cover of one of The Beatles’ most famous songs, respectfully reinterpreted while preserving the original structure, with the sole addition of a slide guitar solo. The track is masterfully performed by Llambo, one of the project’s vocalists.
8. CHARLOTTE SOMETIMES (THE CURE)
Cover of one of The Cure’s most beloved songs, revisited in a rock-oriented version with no keyboards and the addition of a guitar solo.
